[SOLVED] - trying to use any invite code, valid or not, causes the error and fail]
My brother went to recruit someone and they could not create an account. It gets to the create account page, you fill in username, passwd, click the EULA, and click continue. it hangs for about 8 seconds, then says Connection timed Out. Please try again Later.
I tried to create a new acct using a new email with no recruits to see if that was the issue and saw same message. as far as i can tell, theres no way for new players to join the game.
We first tried around 6 PM central. It is now 1155PM central and the error still exists.
help?

Stop fooling with it - you may be burning usernames.
Send a ticket to Customer Service and explain the situation.
You will have to provide proof of the username.
You may not get any action on it until 03 JAN 17

Wargaming implemented an anti re-roll system so that's why it doesn't work

Do you have a reference to this? Or did you just make it up? Unless it's someone trying to create an account using an email already being used I don't see this as being possible. Even trying to enforce this using ISPs wouldn't work, as you have situations such as family members sharing computers or room mates.

Well the part where WG checks to see if its available, and it keeps saying yes, gives me confidence.

Same issue here. I suspect Wargaming NA is a pretty small operation and is taking the day off.

Well i got it to work but the solution was awful. i figured it was having problems connecting to a database to check on invite codes. We had tried WOTLABS, WOTREDDIT, and a pretty sweet invite code we got from Thae Armored patrol - sure enough, it was timimg out trying to figure out if they were valid or not. If we removed invite codes altogether, it worked, although sadly now the account is completely gimped at start.

Thanks for the info, screng. In fact, we are using the WOTREDDIT code during sign-up. Sorry to hear you found out the hard way...
No urgency here, but appreciate the deets. o7

Well hopefully there are some specials still around (maybe even a WoWP one too) he can use for $5 or whatever to get going. its a huge diff to start the game with a premium and a couple hundred thousand creds and some prem time.
Ya Id hold off until they fix invite codes. We were just in the zone of wanting to get the acct created and screw it if we have to drop 5 bucks on it to get it going, this is supposed to be a fun new years weekend, not 36 hours of connection timed out, your friend cant play w you.

I had this issue. When starting an account with an Invite Code it caused me problems when using Firefox. I simply had to use Internet Explorer to do the registration page and it all worked fine.
